Mission Statement 

From the Grantham Village School Long-Range Plan for 2010-2017

The Mission of the District, in partnership with the people of Grantham, is to provide excellence in education. Together we mentor our students to become critical thinkers, creative learners, and independent problem-solvers. We aspire to nurture, in each student, a life-long love of learning. As competent, responsible, and caring citizens, our students will know and apply the skills to make positive contributions within a diverse global society.

2012-2013 School Board Goals*

 Accepted by the Grantham School Board on July 2, 2012 in Support of the Long-Range Plan

Goal 1:  The Grantham School Board will continue to utilize varying strategies to communicate the Grantham School District’s budget to the public.

Goal 2: The Grantham School Board supports efforts to increase Grantham Village School’s sustainability and to reduce the School’s carbon footprint.

Goal 3: The Grantham School Board supports the development of a plan to implement a foreign language program at the K-6 levels at the Grantham Village School. The plan is to be presented to the School Board no later than January 1, 2013.

Goal 4: The Grantham School Board will review the possibility and effectiveness

both educationally and financially of extending the hours of the school day or days of the school year.

 *Assure through the budget development process that fiscal oversight and responsibility provide effective and efficient delivery of education for the students and community.

2012-2013 School Level Goals

 Developed by Grantham Village School Staff and Administration in May-June 2012 in Support of the Board's Goals and the Grantham Village School Long-Range Plan

Goal 1: Student reading, writing, math problem solving, and science inquiry will increase as demonstrated on a variety of assessments.

Goal 2:  Staff and students will adopt and follow consistent whole-school behavioral expectations that provide a safe, nurturing,tolerant, respectful and structured environment that encourages academic and personal growth.

Goal 3:  Staff will continue to support an environment that maximized learning potential for all students where each individual’s abilities and talents are recognized and where activities for enrichment are provided.

Goal 4:  Staff will create opportunities for professional sharing and staff development.

Goal 5: Staff will integrate technology into instructions, continue to build individual student digital portfolios, and provide opportunities for students to enhance their technology skills for 21st century success.
